Cabin in the Woods

Dear Everybody in the Whole World,
I had a chance to see the movie "Cabin in the Woods" early. And it was one of the meat moments in my life. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. This is easily the best movie I've seen this year, and possible the best horror/thriller I've seen EVER.
I was drawn to this movie as it was produced by Joss Whedon, and we all know I basically worship him. Not only that, but the movie was written by the same guy who wrote Cloverfield...and that movie was AWESOME!
Cabin in the Woods is brilliant. It's a movie I can't even bring myself spoil for anyone (normally I don't care about spoilers). The movie comes out tomorrow 4/13/12 and you should all go see it! Yes, even those who don't like horror movies should go see it. The film is a brilliant mix of thriller and sci-go AND comedy. With amazon performances by too many actors to name...plus a couple cliche horror performances that are funny.
Go watch this movie EVEN I you don't like horror films!

I am awesome at not doing anything.

I just want to announce that I have officially not gotten over my procrastination habits. I have not moved out of my crappy apartment yet. I have not vacuumed said apartment for at least two months. I have not saved any money like I promised myself I would (in fact I ended up putting about 300 bucks on my credit card this Christmas....yay). Also I have not even started making videos documenting my attempt to learn how to cook. Don't worry! I will still do this thing. Just...later...after I finish watching every television show ever made. I got caught by The Big Bang Theaory...and I devoured ALL OF IT. then I watched ALL of Game of Thrones (in less than 12 hours [this is impressive because all of Season 1 of Game of Thrones is about 10 hours long]). Then...How I Met Your Mother. This was a little slow going at first. But I'm most of the way through season 3 now and will very soon be caught up. Along with these...did I mention I bought the whole series collection of MASH...cause I did and it's amazing, so I've been watching lots of that. Then, just a few days ago a friend turned me onto the new British TV show 'Spy', which looks like a British version 'Chuck' ....but better than 'Chuck' because it's British. Anyways I watched an episode of that and now I need to finish it. In fact I've been watching so many damn Tv shows lately I've had very little time for movies....which makes me sad.

X-Men Flashbacks

I, like most film critics and geeks, wasn't expecting much from X-Men: First Class. I had every intention of going to see it, I had just expected something closer to "The Last Stand" which I try not to think about.

Now, there were plenty of issues I had with the show.
But surprisingly I was able to look past most of them. I became more engrossed in the film than I ever excepted. And I enjoyed every minute watching this movie.

First off, Magneto Is a badass! We all knew this of course...but Michael Fassbender was fantastic!

Secondly, they managed to make The Banshee a cool character, I always thought he was an annoying character, but damn funny in this movie.

It's hard to stress how pleased I was with the film, and it might just have been because my expectations were so low. Even so, by the end of the film I was literally on the edge of my seat.

I haven't been able to stop thinking about the movie since watching it this morning. It's really brought me back to everything i've always loved about The X-Men, and it shows all the fun potential a real "comic book" movie can be, including your cheesy morals and silly one liners squeezed in.
While reliving all my crazy superhero fantasies I couldn't stop thinking about the X-Men animated series from the 90's, which everyone agrees was easily the best one.

Well, one quick Amazon search later....and all five seasons are on their way. 60 bucks for the entire series....yeah, I'd say it's worth it.

The Most Lazy

I have been more lazy recently than normal, which is impressive (if you ask me).
I got paid 11 days ago and have not cashed my check yet. That's not to say I don't need to, in fact I really needed too, but instead of just waking up early enough to go to the bank before work, I've just been dipping into my savings and putting bills on my line of credit.
Nothing major or bad, and I'll be able to pay it all back when I get around to going to the damn bank.
I realized today that I get paid again in 9 days, i'm definitely going to try to make it until I get paid again before going to the bank, just for shits and giggles.

On top of that laziness I've had three compliments/comments about my beard in the last 24 hours.
I'm a hairy MF. (MF is short for Mother Fucker, just so I don't offend anyone).
I've been talking about getting a haircut for two or three weeks now...still haven't.

In short, I have no money and refuse to groom my body hair.
I also have the day off tomorrow and I plan on staying in my pajamas and watching television all day, I have much I need to get through: Newsradio seasons 4 and 5, Cheers seasons 4-11, Carnivale season 2, Deadwood seasons 2 and 3. Plus I want to watch The Pretender again...and maybe go through Scrubs.

Drinking Game

This one made a Drinking game Meme about his life. His is silly, go look at it.

So decided to as well.

Alcohol of choice...Smirnoff Vokda I suggest Smirnoff Twisted, in Vanilla, Watermelon, Raspberry or Mango.

Take a shot if:

-Jason talks about how depressed he is (including tweets about how bad his day is).
-Jason buys a new DVD (including depression induced Amazon sprees).
-Jason quotes a movie, then proceeds to explain which movie and talk about how you should go watch it as you stare at him blankly.
-Jason buys a comic book.
-Jason buys extravagant and pointless electronics for kicks (two shots if it's a new Apple product).
-Jason complains about his girlfriends cat who lives with him.

Maybe another shot if Jason ever gets more that 5 hours of sleep a night...but we all know that's never going to happen.

On a completely different note. I woke up at the Girlfriend's place today, went to take a shower and found Suave Shampoo...this in unacceptable. Suave Shampoo is for poor people and Charlie Sheen. I demand Garnier Fructis.

But at least I'm having a good enough day that the worst thing I can complain about his how my girlfriend is using the wrong brand of shampoo.

Proper Fanboy Status Acheived!

So, for pretty much all my life I've considered myself a gamer. I grew up with all the incarnations of the nintendo and gameboy systems, and I had friends a plenty with every other system.
I have my own Nintendo wii and fully plan on purchasing the Nintendo 3DS in March.
Also my Girlfriend recently purchased a Playstaion 3 and (within the last year) an Xbox 360....so, Gamer status fully recognized.

Morso than a gamer. I consider myself a film conniseur. I review movies (sometimes) and obsess about all the new ones. I study actors and directors, and have massed a decent sized DVD collection over the last few years that is continually growing.

What is one very important thing that Video Games and Movies have in common.

Yes, a television.
And not any television. A Widescreen 40" HD 1080p 120hz LCD Television.

Now, the TV I've been rockin for the last 5 years is fine. just a nice flatscreen 24" (heavy bastard). And it's been fine. it has a few spots on the screen that turn green if it's been on for more than 3 hours...but it works.
that said....it's a peice of crap. My movies and video games deserved more. And now that I have a Widescreen 40" HD 1080p 120hz LCD Television I know that.
Even without any high definition settings turned on...everything is so pretty.
Now that I have a ridiculously nice television I love watching movies and playing video games more than ever!

Food journal fail.

Another failed project.
This one I'm not sad about, writing everything down that I eat was kind of annoying. Still going to watch what I eat a bit and work out. But not going to write shit down anymore.

Also I'm going to keep writing mood reviews. I'm just not going to do it full time...no real point with 5 readers. But I'm taking a small movie break, been watching crazy amounts of TV on Netflix, I finished LOST finally, watched all of Dead Like Me and I'm plowing through Weeds.

Geektastic

Sadly the fact that I went to the comic book store is blogworthy news.
It was pretty exciting though. I picked up 5 back issues of the series I'm collecting for only 1 dollar.
Yeah...one dollar...five comics!!
It was exciting, I grabbed one book from the dollar bin and four from the quarter bin...then I got 50% off at the counter. It was quite exciting!!

On a slightly less geeky note, TRON is tonight. So ready for this! I have midnight IMAX 3D tickets. And I can't wait.
And before none of you berade me for going to a 3D movie, which none o you know that I hate, I shall tolerate TRON in 3D because I know it was made for 3D and not enhanced for it post production.

Movie fail.

I fell like a failure.
I've been watching a movie every day and blogging about it here And I've been doing well...until yesterday. Didn't watch a movie at all that day.

I was going to that moring about 1 am, but I was really tired, then when I woke up I decided to go to the mechanic to get my car worked on, just to get it out of the way.
Well I ended up waiting at the Mechanics for over 4 hours, without my iPod (could have watched a movie on my iPod). I was late for work, and then work was really busy. It was totally depresseing.

On the bright side, as soon as I finish my saftey inspection on the car I get to go to the DMV and put it into my name. Then the car will officially be mine.
Yay me!

A New Project

No I'm not trying NaNoWriMo again, failing at that three times in a row was enough.
And since my website is also currently a failure...I've decided upon something else.

After picking up an iPod Touch a week or so ago...I discovered a Netflix application...so I signed up for Netflix and to my disgusting delight I started streaming instant video to my iPod...then a DVD came in the mail...and I was in heaven.

After a few super depressing days I was instantly overjoyed that I could watch movies again.... and lots of them...for cheap!!!

SO I'm reviewing movies again.
Since a friend of mine started reviewing movies on his blog I've felt super jealous and had to jump back in the game.

So take a gander...show your friends and revel in all my glory.

A friend at work got some sad news today. No idea what the news was, but she's been sad all day...it kinda sucks.
Because now I've been sad all day.

Anyways other than that, things are peachy.

Still spending too much money on movies and comics. Still in debt. Still depressed. Still trying to find something worthwhile to do with my life.

Got a haircut a little while ago....seems to be the most entertaing part of my life recently. It'sodd cause it't the first time I've had facial hair and short hair at the same time. I kinda like it.

Been playing through a lot of sweet games recently too. Almost finished with Legend of zelda Ocarina of Time again. Also been playing through Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap for the first time. And I just instlled Spore onto Victoria last night...I likes that game a lot.

November still sucks!

Headache finally went away.
But for some reason I'm having a worse time coping with the Daily Monotinous that is my life.

It's ridiculous how obsessed with movies I am...but for some reason when I'm watchong a movie, or researching an actor or director I like... it helps me calm down. It lets me find a different kind of place of mind.
I'm more decided to get my website up and running than ever before, my main problem is a lack of reliable computer use.
Computer at home is not possible because my parents have everything locked up, and I feel bad going over to my friend's or girlfriend's house to get on and type reviews of movies to post to my site...I already spent a lot of time on their computers, and I feel weird every time I do.

I'm tired of thinking.
and I'm sick of my life.
Going to go watch another movie.
going to go pretend everything is different.
